For the last several weeks I have been working on the inventory of the contents of our lost home.  However over the months another kind of inventory has been happening as well.  An inventory of my life.  Loss seems to provide an opportunity to really look at life and consider priorities and determine new directions.  Perhaps when facing catastrophic loss it becomes more evident how fragile life is and my own mortality has become more  clear.  It seems inevitable that during recovery from loss we would begin to ask anew questions about ourselves.  What do I believe?  How does God fit into all this?  What kind of person am I?  This loss of ours has been an invitation to look more closely at our lives and determine what really is the most important to us in these remaining years of our lives.
